Steve Song is a seasoned telecommunications consultant and infrastructure development expert, currently serving as the Senior Director of Infrastructure Mapping and Development at the Internet Society since January 2025. With extensive experience in promoting affordable access to communication technology in African countries, Steve has also acted as a shared spectrum advocate for the Network Startup Resource Center and contributed as a Policy Advisor and Fellow at Mozilla. Previous roles include founding Village Telco Limited, serving as a Telecommunications Fellow at the Shuttleworth Foundation, and managing ICT4D Africa Programs at the International Development Research Centre, focusing on research for development in ICTs. Steve's professional journey began with technical management positions at Sangonet and CPUsed. Education culminated at the University of Toronto from 1981 to 1985.
