Maya J.

Maya J. is an experienced professional in international affairs and program management, currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Party for Civic DEFENDERS at Internews since October 2024. Prior to this role, Maya J. held various positions at The International Foundation for Electoral Systems from July 2018 to October 2024, including Senior Program Manager and Program Manager for Southeast Asia, as well as Senior Program Officer and Program Officer for the Asia-Pacific region. Previous experience includes roles at Freedom House, Banyan Tree Foundation, and the International Center on Nonviolent Conflict in various consulting and program positions. Maya J. began the career with internships at Human Rights Watch, Food & Water Watch, ICF International, EcoLogic Development Fund, and Ceres, Inc. with a strong academic background comprised of a Master of Arts in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a Spanish Minor from Connecticut College.
