Professor John Parkinson Obe Mst

Professor John Parkinson OBE MSt (Cantab), CMgr, CCMI, CIMS, MSyl, FRSA is an accomplished professional in the fields of security and counter-terrorism, currently serving as a Professor of Security and Counter Terrorism at the Global Secure Societies Institute. With extensive leadership experience, Professor Parkinson has held significant roles, including Managing Director at InterSec Consultancy Ltd and Executive Director at Crown Integrated Services Ltd. Additionally, Professor Parkinson advises the UK Home Office on strategic policing and contributes to the Cambridge Centre for Evidence-Based Policing as a Senior Fellow. A Visiting Professor at The University of Huddersfield, Professor Parkinson also brings expertise from engagements with various international policing and counter-terrorism projects, successfully mentoring senior police leaders globally. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Applied Criminology from the University of Cambridge and completion of the Leadership in Counter Terrorism Programme at the FBI Academy.
