About This Position

This role will be an opportunity for a strong project manager to develop and own the process for  onboarding of new assets from construction into operations. The Manager will work closely with IT, Engineering, Construction, Legal, and others to collaboratively onboard newly built assets and put them on a path to successful operations. This position will also support ongoing remediation and warranty work that must be managed after project handover into operations. This position will report to the Director, PV Operations. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

Onboarding Management for New Projects- Track owner, contractor, O&M, and 3rd party deliverables across multiple contracts

  • Read and understand construction and O&M contracts.
  • Read and understand project schedules and identify critical path items for integrating projects into the operational portfolio
  • Manage consultant agreements and deliverables.
  • Attend meetings with contractors, utilities, and internal teams
  • Develop project trackers to manage the onboarding process
  • Work closely with project manager to ensure alignment between construction and operations during commissioning/ onboarding process
  • Review and manage construction and engineering deliverables and coordinate the delivery of these to appropriate stakeholders
  • Own and refine onboarding process

Warranty Support for Operating Projects- Manage a tracker of outstanding issues, latest response and follow up until support is provided

  • Work with operations and engineering teams to evaluate next steps on contested warranty claims
  • Use project management skills to support OM team to keep site issues to a minimum
  • Support reporting of these issues by project to the rest of the company

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline or related work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in solar, wind, utilities, or telecom construction with a focus on project management or commissioning
  • Having past experience in energy, construction, engineering, or SCADA systems is helpful but not necessary.
  • You will learn some of this in your role by interfacing with subject matter experts
  • Experience developing and owning multidisciplinary processes
  • Ability to read construction drawings and interpret technical deliverables for general alignment with requirements
  • Must be outgoing and willing to chase problems to completion Advanced knowledge of Excel, Google suite, Microsoft suite, Slack and other collaboration tools
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills are key
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Able to thrive in a remote environment

Physical & Sensory Requirements

  • Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone.
  • Position requires some travel for company-wide meetups: ~4 weeks total through a calendar year, plus additional travel required for site visits (up to ~8 weeks/year).
