Chad Pickering has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and research. Chad started their career as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at UC Davis, where they analyzed genomic data to study thyroid and colorectal cancer risk and conducted power analyses for gene-associated studies. Chad then worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the UCLA California Center for Population Research, where they co-authored publications on health disparities among LGBT military servicemembers.

Chad's next role was as a Student Ambassador at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, where they analyzed and presented data on student experiences and career services to inform policy changes and advisor positions. Currently, Chad is working at InterVenn Biosciences as a Clinical Data Scientist, where they develop glycoproteomic classifiers for blood-based diagnostic testing and evaluates cancer treatment responses using survival modeling techniques. Chad also coordinates publications on glycosylation patterns and collaborates with R&D and legal departments on patent applications.
