James de Lacey has held various roles in the corporate world since 1998. Starting with Jardine Matheson, they were part of the Graduate Programme for Hotels. James then moved to Kao USA Inc. where they were part of the Future Leaders Graduate Programme for Beauty Care. In 2000, they were the Regional Lead for Insight & Strategy for Future Mobility at Honda Motor Europe Ltd. James then moved to Tesco in 2003 as the Go-to-Market for China. In 2005 they were the Head of Sales for Enterprise & SMB at Intelligentsia Worldwide. In 2012, they were the Chief Commercial Officer & Co-Founder at FulcrumOn. In 2014, they were the Director of New Business at Grail Insights (Now Escalent). In 2017, they were the Vice President - Enterprise & Mid-Market for EMEA & APAC at GWI and the Head of Commercial (Omidyar Network Fund) at Provenance. Currently, they are the Vice President - New Business, Global at Intigriti.

James de Lacey has a background in Oriental Studies, Linguistics, and Japanese Language and Literature. James attended SOAS University of London, where they earned an Honors degree in BA & Oriental Studies, Linguistics. James then went on to attend Hokkaido University, where they studied Oriental Studies, Japanese Language and Literature. James also attended Ampleforth College.
