Robotics Engineer at Intrinsic

Abhishek Agarwal has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and engineering. Abhishek is currently working as a Robotics Engineer at Intrinsic since June 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Roboticist at Vicarious AI from August 2018 to July 2022.

Abhishek also has experience working at MIT Media Lab as a Graduate Research Assistant from February 2015 to June 2018. During their time at MIT, they focused on affordable autonomous vehicles for shared mobility in urban environments. Abhishek was the technical lead and founding member of the autonomy team of the MIT Persuasive Electric Vehicle (PEV).

Ltd., where they were responsible for simulation of test applications for OEMs and led the design and development of a commercial parallel robot.

Abhishek's work experience also includes their role as a Project Associate at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras from July 2010 to September 2011. Abhishek successfully simulated flexible ropes for naval applications and developed control schemes for a planar parallel robot.

Furthermore, they have interned at Pierre and Marie Curie University as a Summer Research Intern, where they implemented a self-collision detection library for a humanoid robot. Abhishek also interned at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi as a Summer Research Intern, where they worked on simulating robotic manipulators and developing a microcontroller board for a six-legged robot.

Abhishek Agarwal obtained their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur. Abhishek attended this institution between 2006 and 2010. Following their undergraduate studies, Abhishek pursued further education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2014 to 2018. During this time, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
