Gjermund Ustensvik

Gjermund Ustensvik has a diverse work experience, starting their career as a Gas Station Attendant at Shell/7-eleven from August 2013 to June 2016. Gjermund then worked as a Carpenter at Byggmester Bjørnar Østensvig from August 2016 to January 2020. Gjermund transitioned into the field of robotics, where they took on the role of a Robotics Engineer / Lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Sciences at Østfold University College (HiØ) from January 2020 to March 2021. During this time, they taught basic programming using cPython, provided assistance to IT students, and managed the robotics lab. From June 2019 to December 2019, Gjermund also worked as a Teacher Assistant in Industrial IT at HiØ. Moving forward, they became a Robotics Technician at Kameleon Robotics AS (formerly Cobotnor AS) from March 2021 to December 2021. Gjermund then worked as a Robot Performance Engineer at Vicarious from January 2022 to May 2022, before joining Intrinsic as a Robotics Engineer in May 2022.

Gjermund Ustensvik has a diverse education history. Gjermund began their education at Tomb High School in 2011, where they studied Technics and Industrial Production. Gjermund continued their studies at Halden High School Porsnes in 2012 and 2013, focusing on Chemistry and Process for their field of study. In 2013, they obtained a degree in Electrical Basics from the same school.

In 2014, Gjermund attended Borg High School, where they specialized in Data and Electronics. The following year, they studied at Greåker High School, taking extra science classes to improve their qualifications for college (Realfaglig Påbygg). This demonstrates their dedication to academic improvement and pursuit of further education.

From 2016 to 2020, Gjermund attended Østfold University College (HiØ), where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering. During this time, they also participated in a computer engineering exchange semester at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in 2017. This experience allowed him to gain international exposure and broaden their knowledge in the field.

Gjermund Ustensvik is currently studying at Østfold University College (HiØ) for their Master's in Applied Computer Science, which started in 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2024. This master's degree will provide him with advanced knowledge and skills in their field.

In addition to their formal education, Gjermund has also obtained several certifications. Gjermund completed the Robot Safety and Risk Assessment Training from the Association for Advancing Automation in May 2022. Gjermund also completed tutorials in Python 3 and C# from SoloLearn in 2020 and 2018, respectively. These certifications demonstrate their commitment to staying current with technological advancements and enhancing their programming skills.

Furthermore, Gjermund has obtained a Norwegian driver's license (B and AM) from the Statens vegvesen - Norwegian Public Roads Administration. This indicates their ability to drive and suggests a level of independence.
