Andy Nguyen

Robotics Simulation Engineer

Andy Nguyen is currently a Robotics Simulation Engineer at the University of Michigan, where work is conducted under the guidance of Professors Yanran Ding and Daniel Bruder. Nguyen's background includes experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, focusing on modeling fixed-wing UAVs and designing a passive wall climbing robot. Prior internships at the RAI Institute involved critical tasks related to actuator performance, while a role as Project Manager at NOBE at Michigan showcased leadership in hands-on consulting projects. As a co-founder of Chunk (It)!, a time management website, Andy secured third place in a pitch competition. Participation in the FTC Team The Brainstormers demonstrated a deep commitment to robotics, including leading technical efforts and mentorship. Educational pursuits include a dual degree in Robotics and Computer Science at the University of Michigan, following a strong foundation at Lexington High School.
