Software Engineer at Intrinsic

Marcel Schnirring has a diverse work experience in software engineering and research roles. Marcel is currently working as a Software Engineer at Intrinsic since February 2023. Prior to this, they were a Software Engineer at KINEXON from September 2020 to December 2022, where they worked on various projects including the development of a Real-Time Location System and the implementation of over-the-air configuration protocol for IoT sensor devices. Marcel also introduced Golang for new components to reduce development time and modernized the toolchain and infrastructure. Before that, Marcel worked as a Research assistant at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2019 and 2018, where they were involved in projects at the Institute for Anthropomatics and Robotics (IAR) and Institute for Material Handling and Logistics (IFL). Marcel also gained experience through internships at Baumer Group in sensor development in 2016, and as a Research assistant at Steinbuch Centre for Computing (SCC) at KIT in 2014. Additionally, they worked as an Academic Tutor at the Institute for Information Processing Technologies (ITIV) at KIT in 2013. Marcel has also worked as a Holiday Worker in Research and Development at Daimler AG in 2012 and at Wilken Corporate Group in 2012 and 2011.

Marcel Schnirring completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from 2012 to 2016. During their undergraduate studies, they also participated in a semester abroad at Trinity College Dublin in 2014.

Marcel continued their education at KIT and obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from 2016 to 2019. In addition, Marcel received a certification in Studium Generale from KIT in November 2016.

Marcel Schnirring also had the opportunity to experience a semester abroad at Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2017, as part of their educational journey.

Furthermore, Marcel received a scholarship from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation in November 2012.
