John Leonard Freeman, PhD has worked in a variety of roles within the science field. From 1994 to 2001, they were a Dual Major Bachelor of Science at Northern Arizona University. John Leonard then went on to become a Graduate Student Department Fellow at Purdue University from 2001 to 2004. In 2004, they became a Post-doctoral Fellow at Colorado State University in the Plant Molecular Biology Program and the Biology Department. From 2009 to 2010, they were a Senior Research Associate and Co-PI at USDA-ARS Water Management Research, CSU Fresno Center for Irrigation Technology. During this time, they also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Adjunct Faculty Member at CSU Fresno Biology Department. In 2011, they Co-Founded and served as Scientific Director at Nutrafortified. From 2012 to 2014, they were Chief Science Officer at Intrinsyx Technologies Corp, where they conducted research and development in agricultural bio-technologies, environmental life sciences, space bio-sciences, nutraceuticals, nano-tech bio-sensors, and intellectual property. During this time, they also served as a Science Test Lead and prepped and co-supervised plant stress physiology growth experiments on the International Space Station. In 2014, they became Chief Science Officer at Intrinsyx Environmental, where they conducted phytoremediation of water and soil using trees, plants, and grasses. Finally, in 2015, they became Chief Science Officer at Intrinsyx Bio.

John Leonard also obtained a Dual Major B.Sci. from Northern Arizona University between 1994 and 2000, with a major in Environmental Sciences and a major in Microbiology, and a minor in Chemistry.
