Kristen Hislop

Kristen Hislop is a seasoned professional in environmental compliance and marine conservation with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as Senior Manager of Environmental Compliance and Strategy at Invenergy LLC since April 2023, Kristen also holds a position as a Lecturer on Coastal Marine Policy and Management at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at UC Santa Barbara. Previously, Kristen was the Senior Director of the Marine Program at the Environmental Defense Center from July 2015 to March 2023, where responsibilities included developing conservation strategies and leading multidisciplinary partnerships. Earlier roles included Director of the Marine Conservation Program at the same organization, a Researcher at Monterey Bay Aquarium focusing on sustainable seafood, Program Analyst at the California Coastal Commission, and a Resource Protection Specialist with NOAA. Kristen earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School and a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Exercise Science from UC Santa Barbara.
