George RR Wilson has extensive work experience in the financial industry. George RR started their career in 1997 as a Rifleman in the 10th Battalion of The Parachute Regiment. George RR then transitioned to the legal field, working as a Tenant Barrister and member of Middle Temple at 1 Gray's Inn Square Chambers from 1997 to 2000.

In 2000, Wilson moved into the banking sector, joining Credit Suisse First Boston as a Manager in Legal & Compliance. George RR later joined Barclays Capital Investment Bank, Barclays Africa, and Absa Commercial and Merchant Bank in 2003, holding roles as an Associate Director and Legal and Compliance Manager.

Wilson's career progressed further with positions at UBS Investment Bank as an Executive Director from 2006 to 2008 and at Lehman Brothers as an Executive Director in 2008.

In 2009, they briefly worked at Nomura as an Executive Vice President before joining Absa Group in 2010. At Absa, they held various roles, including Principal (Director) from 2018 to 2021 and Head of Trade: Financial Institutions - Africa from 2013 to 2017.

Most recently, Wilson joined Investec in 2021 as the Head of Institutional Trade Finance.

George RR Wilson attended Inns of Court School of Law from 1995 to 1996, where they obtained a degree called "Called to Bar of England & Wales" in the field of Law. Prior to that, they studied at City, University of London from 1994 to 1995, earning a degree in Law called "Common Professional Examination". Additionally, they completed their undergraduate studies at UCL from 1990 to 1993, majoring in Psychology and Cognitive Science with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence. Before their university education, they attended Eastbourne College from 1985 to 1990, achieving 4 A Levels and 14 AO & O Levels.
