Sharon Hughes

Sharon Hughes has extensive work experience in the field of clinical operations and project management. Sharon is currently the Director of Clinical Operations at IO Biotech since May 2023, and previously served as the Associate Director of Clinical Operations from January 2022 to May 2023.

Prior to their current position, Sharon was a Senior Clinical Project Manager at Gyroscope Therapeutics from April 2020 to December 2021. Sharon also worked as a Freelance Clinical Project Manager at Aimmune Therapeutics from October 2017 to March 2020.

Sharon's previous experience includes freelancing roles as a Clinical Study Manager at Gilead Sciences from June 2016 to June 2017, a Clinical Study Manager at Bio Products Laboratory Ltd. from June 2015 to June 2016, a Clinical Site Manager at Bristol-Myers Squibb from October 2013 to June 2015, and a Global Study Manager at Amgen from October 2011 to October 2013.

Sharon started their career as a Freelance Clinical Trial Coordinator at Biogen Idec from October 2010 to September 2011. Prior to that, Sharon worked as a Clinical Trial Manager at Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre from May 2007 to October 2010.

Sharon's professional experience also includes a role as a Project Coordinator at Imperial College London from August 2003 to February 2007. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in various aspects of clinical trial management, including study conduct, regulatory compliance, vendor oversight, and safety reporting.

Sharon Hughes pursued a BSc in chemistry/biochemistry from University College Dublin from 1995 to 1998.
