Flavius Stefan Nicu

Flavius Stefan Nicu has a diverse background in machine learning, computer vision, and software development. Flavius Stefan began their career in 2014 at Serimag, where they focused on research and development collaborations, particularly in natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision (CV). Flavius Stefan played a key role in reducing the need for manual documentation revisions by 50% through the implementation of state-of-the-art solutions. Additionally, they led the development of an SDK for mobile devices to detect, classify, and extract structured information from documents using computer vision and machine learning techniques.

In 2018, Nicu served as an advisor at Melior.AI before joining FICOSA in 2019 as a computer vision engineer. In this role, they worked on improving soil detection solutions for Audi e-tron's camera-based digital mirrors. Flavius Stefan applied highly optimized machine learning and computer vision algorithms for embedded hardware.

Continuing their work in machine learning engineering, Nicu joined Melior.AI in 2019. Flavius Stefan contributed to various machine learning projects until 2020. Later that year, they joined IOMED Medical Solutions as a machine learning engineer, where they are currently employed.

Flavius Stefan Nicu completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This educational period lasted from 2011 to 2015. In addition to their degree, Flavius Stefan Nicu also obtained two additional certifications: a Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in May 2018 and a TensorFlow in Practice Specialization from deeplearning.ai in April 2020.
