Michal Swiat has had a varied career in research and development. In 2021, they joined iOmx Therapeutics AG as a Senior Research Associate. From 2017 to 2021, they worked at Pure Biologics S.A. as an R&D Specialist (Antibodies) and R&D Specialist, where they were involved in phage display screening, ELISA, cell based ELISA, antibody reformatting, and bacterial and mammalian vector construction. In 2016, they worked as a Researcher at TU Delft, where they evaluated alternative CRISPR-based systems for genome editing in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. From 2014 to 2016, they were an Assistant Laboratory Technician at the Polish Academy of Sciences, Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy, where they interrogated DNA-protein interactions by EMSA assays and DNA footprinting, and optimized protein expression in E. coli. In 2013, they did an internship at IPK Gatersleben, where they characterized enzymes by enzyme assays, established optimal temperature, buffer and pH, screened a substrate and co-factor spectrum, and expressed proteins in A. tumefaciens.
Michal Swiat obtained a Master of Science in Environmental Biotechnology from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology between 2013 and 2014. Prior to that, they earned an Engineer degree in Biotechnology from the same university between 2009 and 2013.
