John Scott

COO, Director Federal & National Security at Ion Channel

John Scott has a long and varied work experience. John started their career in 2013 as Director/Founder of AirGap LLC. John then moved to Selection Pressure LLC in 2014, where they served as President until 2010. In 2008, they became Director of Open Source Software and Integration at Mercury Federal Systems. From 2010 to 2015, they were President of Selection Pressure LLC. In 2015, they became COO and Director of Federal & National Security at Ion Channel. In 2017, they were a Cybersecurity Policy Fellow at New America. In 2020, they joined Dcode as an Advisor and in 2022, they became a Cohort Member of the FinTech Innovation Lab. John has also been a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations since 2004.

John Scott attended Marshall High School from 1986 to 1987. John then went on to pursue a BS in Mechanical Engineering at Lehigh University from 1990 to 1994. After that, John Scott obtained an MS in Systems Engineering from Virginia Polytechnica & State University from 1998 to 2002. In October 2004, they obtained a certification in Complex Systems & Agent Base Modeling from the New England Complex Systems Institute.
