Oscar Mayr

Oscar Mayr has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Oscar currently works as a Principal UX Architect at ION, where they have boosted design maturity and established methodologies and frameworks at the business leadership level. Oscar has also delivered strategic initiatives and increased agility for the team by creating design templates. Prior to this, Oscar worked at Capgemini, where they served as a Design Ops Lead and expanded the UX team capability. Oscar also implemented a leadership model and designed UX strategies that led to acquiring new clients. In their role as a Managing Consultant, they established a UX portal, initiated internal meet-up events, and developed an internal UX training program. Oscar's earlier experience includes roles such as a Senior Consultant at Capgemini, a UX Designer, and a Director & Head of Product at SquaredMK, where they collaborated with clients to create impactful product experiences and designed a VIP online retail platform. Oscar also worked as a Naval Architect at Discovery Shipyard Ltd and as a Marketing Sales Consultant at North Sails, where they contributed to marketing, product development, and customer care.

Oscar Mayr obtained a Bachelor's degree in Yacht and Power Craft design from Solent University, where they studied from 2010 to 2013. Oscar then pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in MA Industrial Design from the University of the Arts London from 2014 to 2015. Oscar also holds various additional certifications, including a Nielsen Norman Group UX Master Certification in UX Management & User Research obtained in 2021, and a Nielsen Norman Group UX Certification in UX Management & User Research obtained in 2018. Other certifications include a Membership Certificate from The Interaction Design Foundation and a Product Manager: A Complete Guide certification from IIBA, both obtained in 2023. Oscar also completed the Capgemini Connected Manager Learning program from Harvard Business School Online in 2022 and the Design-Led Approach for the Intelligent Enterprise program from SAP in 2019.
