Danielle Lyons has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. Danielle is currently working as a Scientific Program Manager at Ionpath since 2022. Prior to this, Danielle worked at Gladstone Institutes from 2019 to 2022, where they held the positions of Scientific Program Lead and Postdoctoral Scholar. In these roles, they managed the HOPE Martin Delaney Collaboratory for HIV Cure Research, oversaw the NIH application for the collaboratory, supervised a Research Assistant, and conducted research on regulation of HIV latency.

Before joining Gladstone Institutes, Danielle was a PhD Candidate at Yale University School of Medicine from 2011 to 2018. Danielle'sresearch focused on viral and cellular gene regulation during Epstein-Barr virus lytic reactivation and identification of genes involved in the development of EBV-associated cancers. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant, studying Hepatitis C Virus and Yellow Fever Virus replication and conducting a small molecule screen to identify inhibitors of YFV replication.

Danielle also has teaching experience, serving as a Graduate Teaching Fellow at Yale University from 2014 to 2016. Danielle taught cell biology, membrane physiology, and genes and development to science majors, graded assignments and exams, and held office hours for student assistance.

Furthermore, Danielle worked as a Student Lab Coordinator at Colorado State University from 2008 to 2011, where they used PCR and DNA sequencing techniques to identify patients infected with M. tuberculosis.

Danielle Lyons earned a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from Colorado State University, which they completed between 2008 and 2011. Following that, Danielle went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology at Yale University from 2012 to 2018.
