Aytekin Oz. (Itechin)

Aytekin Oz, Ph.D., has a diverse work experience in the field of optics and photonics. Aytekin(Itechin) is currently working as a Senior Micro-optics Design Engineer at IonQ, focusing on metasurface-based optical system design for Quantum computer systems. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Optical Design Engineer at Molex from 2018 to 2022.

Additionally, Aytekin has held various research and teaching positions. Aytekin(Itechin) worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Arizona from 2016 to 2018, conducting research in the field of optics. Aytekin(Itechin) also served as a Visiting Lecturer and Researcher at the American University of the Middle East (AUM) from 2017 to 2018.

Aytekin has been involved in collaborative research at TOBB ETU and the University of Arizona, focusing on metasurfaces-based optical elements in nanophotonics. Aytekin(Itechin) worked as a Researcher at TOBB ETU from 2016 to 2017.

Before that, Aytekin gained industry experience as a Senior Optical Engineer at Aselsan and worked as an Optical R&D Consultant. Aytekin(Itechin) also worked as a Graduate Research Associate at the University of Arizona, where they gained expertise in laser and solid-state devices, as well as optical computing and processing.

Aytekin Oz, Ph.D., has a comprehensive education history in the fields of optics/optical sciences, electrical and electronics engineering, and science and math.

Aytekin(Itechin) started their educational journey at Izmir Atatürk High School from 1996 to 2000, where they focused on science and math.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Aytekin obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ege University, graduating in 2005.

Aytekin(Itechin) furthered their studies at Ege University, completing a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 2005 to 2007.

Aytekin then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona, graduating in 2010.

Their commitment to learning led him to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Optics/Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona in 2017.

In addition to their academic achievements, Aytekin obtained the ZEMAX Optical System Design certification from Zemax, LLC in March 2015.
