Masako Yamada

Masako Yamada is a seasoned professional in the fields of applications development and advanced computing, currently serving as the Director of Applications Development at IonQ since August 2022, where Yamada collaborates with customers on their quantum journeys and develops quantum algorithms for commercial advantage. Prior to this role, Yamada spent two decades at GE Research, holding positions including Technology Manager for Analytics and Software, Senior Scientist in HPC & Advanced Computing, and Program and Platform Leader for Optical & Biopharma Systems, with a focus on industrial applications, team leadership, and significant advancements in biosensor technology. Yamada's career also includes work as a Japanese-English writer and translator, alongside academic credentials comprising a BA in Physics and English from Wellesley College and a Ph.D. in Physics from Boston University.
