Priti Albal

Priti Albal is a Principal Product Development Engineer at iota Biosciences, Inc. since December 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Abbott from September 2018 to December 2020 as a Senior Research and Development Engineer. In this role, they led pre-clinical studies for mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices and oversaw a new product through all stages of development. From 2014 to 2018, Priti worked at ALung Technologies as a Senior Biomedical Engineer. Their responsibilities included spearheading the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) program, developing validated models for the Hemolung device, and leading the next generation device and catheter development. Priti also conducted verification and validation activities, assessed product failures, and improved supply chain management. Priti completed a research internship at QuantMD in 2013 and held research assistant roles at Carnegie Mellon University in 2012. Priti started their career as an intern at Cummins Inc., where they analyzed inventory and evaluated lead times of components.

Priti Albal holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, which they obtained from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Master's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University from 2011 to 2012. Priti Albal also achieved a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cummins College of Engineering, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Additionally, they obtained a certification in "Centrifugal Pumps: Testing, Design, and Analysis" from ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) in June 2018.
