Gene Mason

Gene Mason is a Principal Product Development Engineer at Beta Bionics, specializing in closed-loop solutions for individuals with diabetes since February 2024. Previously, Gene served as a Sr. Staff Engineer in R&D at Becton Dickinson from April 2016 to January 2024, focusing on infusion component design and intellectual property development. Gene held the position of Staff Engineer in R&D at Edwards Lifesciences from 2012 to 2016, concentrating on pressure monitoring and catheters. Prior experience also includes working as a Sr. Engineer at Masimo from 1995 to 2012, where the focus was on oximetry sensor design and optical components. Gene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College and a Master of Science degree in Bioengineering from the University of Michigan.
