Overview

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Intern will support the development, management and planning of DEIB driven initiatives. The role will report to Senior Counsel in the legal department, a leader of the DEIB effort at Iovance, and will work remotely.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge, interest, and committed of social issues and creating diverse, equitable and inclusive communities and workplaces
  • Assist with planning and participate in DEIB related training sessions and/or events
  • Research best practices on DEI and employee engagement to help inform strategy and initiatives
  • Assist with planning, and implementation of strategic DEI initiatives by supporting the analysis of data, streamlining processes, and generating reports
  • Promote continuous improvement culture by communicating and demonstrating values.
  • Assist with employee engagement activities while supporting DEIB initiatives
  • Provide recommendations on resources for building and retaining diverse talent
  • Other DEIB or improvement activities as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leader.
  • Must adhere to Iovance Biotherapeutics’ core values, policies, procedures, and business ethics.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university/college with a major in a Social Science related discipline.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must have completed at least one year of study at an accredited university/college prior to internship commencing.
  • Ability to understand processes, identify issues, and seek solutions - self- motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.

  • Must have visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer screen, and extensive reading.

  • This position requires repetitive motion, substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.

  • Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information.
