Laura Vasilion

Laura Vasilion is an experienced freelance blogger and writer, currently contributing to Medium since August 2018 and running a life, opinion, and travel blog, "Talking to the World," with ChicagoNow of Chicago Tribune Media Group since June 2014. Vasilion has authored the novel "Maelstrom," set in WWII Iceland, and has maintained a freelance writing career since 1988, producing feature articles, profiles, and essays. Vasilion served as a Senior Staff Writer and Columnist for Nutrition & Foodservice Edge magazine from April 2000 to October 2017 and worked with the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals as a writer from 2000 to 2016. Additional contributions were made as a freelance contributor for the Chicago Tribune from December 1989 to 2007. Education was pursued at Northern Illinois University (NIU).
