Job Summary

The Technical Specialist - Systems position will work onsite at IP Pathways. The position will be primarily responsible for implementing technology solutions for clients within client environments or within our cloud infrastructure environment.

The individual in this position will be part of the IP Pathways engineering team and will participate in IP Pathways training and other company activities.  This position must also provide a high-level of professionalism and must possess excellent soft skills in addition to technical skills.  We are willing to train the right candidate in all aspects of our product set.

Key Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Implementation of IP Pathways’ proprietary cloud solutions, including (but not limited to):
    • DNS Security solution
    • Cloud Infrastructure (setup and spin up of cloud server resources and related storage)
    • IPP AdaptiveCloud Remote Monitoring and Management tool
    • Implementation of industry leading technology solutions, including (but not limited to):
    • Acronis Backup
    • Veeam Backup
    • Duo MFA
    • Sophos MDM
    • Sophos Spam Filter
    • Sophos Endpoint Protection solutions
    • Breach Secure Now Security Training solution
    • Sentinel One security solutions
    • Microsoft 365 solutions
  • Participate as a Systems engineering resource as part of a project team, implementing solutions according to defined project timelines.
  • Provide written updates and summaries of project tasks completed, issues that arise, and progress of ongoing tasks.
  • Apply operating system updates and patches in a timely manner in keeping with company procedures and best practices.
  • Verification of client backups to ensure successful completion, and remediation of any failed client backups.
  • Deployment of client systems, as needed within the scope of a project.
  • Assist in the installation of data center equipment, as needed.
  • Work within service ticketing system to assist in the support of IP Pathways clients, as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues, including desktop operating systems, across a range of software applications in a courteous, cooperative, and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in information technology (or related field) OR 2 years of computer/technical support or implementation related experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with computer systems in a business and/or client-facing environment.
  • Proficient with installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of computer system hardware and software.
  • Proficient on Office suites, Windows OS, Multiple Server OS’s, Mac OS, Active Directory, hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, VMware, Entry Level Networking Systems, Cloud-based technologies.
  • Familiarity with standard server administration and networking protocols (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.).
  • Familiarity with using a Service Ticketing system and Remote Support tools. Experience with ConnectWise is a plus.

  • Ability to follow detailed technical process-related documentation.

Physical Abilities Required

  • Ability to rack servers, switches, and other datacenter equipment, as needed.
  • Ability to work on your feet or at a desk for extended periods of time, as needed.
