Katie Ellis MacMillan has extensive experience in marketing and events. Katie began their career as a Stage Manager, Stage Crew, and Prop Master at Steppenwolf Theatre Company from 1997 to 2000. Katie then worked as a Production Team Member for Freelance Production from 2000 to 2003. In this role, they were involved in various projects for clients such as Target, Disney, and Burger King. From 2003 to 2015, Katie held multiple positions at Agency EA, starting as an Event Producer and eventually becoming the VP of Marketing. Katie led key marketing initiatives for clients such as McDonald's, Boeing, and Hilton, and managed a senior leadership team. At IPC, Katie worked as a Marketing Director, Membership & Events from 2015 to 2020, where they developed and implemented successful marketing strategies resulting in a 30% growth in attendance at IPC's APEX EXPO. Finally, they became the Sr. Marketing Director at IPC in 2020, leading a remote marketing team and managing the marketing budget to support business goals.

Katie Ellis MacMillan graduated from Bradley University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology. Katie then pursued additional education and obtained a Certificate in Integrated Marketing from DePaul University in 2007. In July 2023, Katie also obtained a certification in "Developing a Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Program" from LinkedIn.
