Uman Shahzad is the Head of Backend & Integrations at IPInfo. Uman has over two years of experience working as an Open Source Developer & DevOps at OpenCraft. There, they were responsible for managing infrastructure operations & automation, and consulted & developed critical business software for large enterprises. Uman achieved x40-x50 speed improvements on critical business APIs through consulting and development, and deployed, operated & maintained diverse distributed infrastructure for Open edX hosting service. Uman also lead work on major reliability improvements to the hosting service, and contributed fullstack user-facing features to edX that are visible to hundreds of thousands of learners. Uman consulted & developed technical solutions for upstream edX Enterprise organization, and lead, developed and designed automation of the company’s accounting pipeline with Django app. Furthermore, they produced infrastructure documentation and tech talks, and pushed the company towards embracing modern DevOps / SRE practices. Finally, they lead improvements in process to on-boarding new developers, focusing on a smooth experience.

Uman Shahzad attended Roosevelt High School before going to City University of New York-Hunter College, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science.
