Khurram Nizami

Khurram Nizami has worked in various roles in the legal and technology fields since 2001. In 2001, they began their career as a Technical Writer at Informatica and a Technical Trainer at Oxford Institute of Technology. In 2007, they joined Genga & Associates, P.C. as a Senior Associate Attorney, where they served as key Internet counsel for Skype until its 2012 acquisition. In 2016, they became an Attorney at The IP & Technology Legal Group, P.C., where they provided legal support to business and technology clients in complex transactions and business affairs. In 2019, they joined Wells Fargo as a Data Privacy Subject Matter Expert (via Collabera), leading projects within data privacy initiative across enterprise lines of business. Currently, they are working as Intellectual Property and Data Privacy Counsel at Axiom and as a Data Privacy Manager at IPS Group, Inc., where they are responsible for maintaining and streamlining the privacy program to operationalize compliance with applicable laws.

Khurram Nizami completed a BA in English from the University of California, Berkeley in 2000. Khurram then attended Loyola Law School, Los Angeles where they obtained their Doctor of Law - JD. In 2007, they were granted a License to Practice Law in California and a License to Practice Law in the Ninth Circuit from the State Bar of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit respectively. In 2001, they were certified as a Microsoft Certified Trainer. In 2017, they were granted a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals. In 2018, they were granted a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals. In 2019, they were granted a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) and a Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals and Cisco respectively. In 2020, they were granted a OneTrust Fellow of Privacy Technology from OneTrust. Khurram is currently pursuing a Master of Science - MS in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University.
