Chris Marsden

Group General Counsel at IQ-EQ

Chris Marsden is the Group General Counsel at IQ-EQ. Prior to this, they served as the EMEA General Counsel for ASX-listed Link Group from July 2019 to January 2021. Before that, they were the General Counsel for Link Asset Services (formerly Capita Asset Services), a division of Link Group, from January 2015 to June 2019.

Marsden began their career as a Senior Associate in Financial Institutions Group at Clifford Chance in February 2007. Chris advised on M&A, reorganisations and regulatory advice in the financial services sector. Chris also provided briefings and Q&A for Directors and C-Suite Executives on legal and regulatory issues, directors duties and governance issues. Chris advised various clients on acquisitions, disposals and strategic initiatives including Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Cerberus Capital Management, Liverpool Victoria and Mastercard. Chris attended Future Leaders Programme. Chris was also an author and contributor to several publications on legal and industry issues, including working with the Economist Intelligence Unit. Chris gave presentations at industry events and at the Academy of European Law on legal and regulatory developments.

Chris Marsden studied Modern Theirtory at the University of Oxford, where they obtained a 2:1. Chris then attended The London Oratory School.

Chris Marsden reports to Mark Pesco, Group CEO. They are on a team with Annie Kong - Managing Director, Frederik Benoit - Global Head, Transformation, and Mirek Gruna - Chief Commercial Officer, Jersey.
