Manish Thapa

Manish Thapa, Ph.D., currently serves as a Senior Quantum Engineer at IQM Quantum Computers, where responsibilities include contributing to benchmarking error suppression techniques to enhance quantum processing unit performance and driving innovation in error mitigation and quantum computer services. Previously, Manish held the position of Quantum Engineer at IQM, focusing on superconductor-based quantum processors and leading the development of a pulse-level simulator. Manish's academic background includes a Doctorate in Chemical Physics and a Master’s degree in Physics from ETH Zürich, where research encompassed the development of algorithms for quantifying quantum tunneling and simulations of disease spreading in social networks. Other notable experiences include research assistant roles at various institutions, where Manish worked on topics such as ultra-short pulse propagation and quantum gate simulations.
