Neville Young

Neville Young has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Neville started their career in 1987 as an Instructor at the University of Pretoria, where they worked until 1989. After that, they joined Factum Electronics as a Senior Electronics Technician, managing a reverse engineering documentation project. From 1992 to 1995, Young worked as a Technical Writer at Grid Publication Design, writing a wide range of instruction and maintenance manuals.

In 1995, Young joined Irdeto Access as a Configuration Manager, responsible for managing the configuration and controlled release of software. Neville continued this role at Irdeto until 2005. From 2005 to 2010, Young became a self-employed Independent Contractor, successfully completing writing contracts in various fields. During this time, they also authored a book called "Astronomy Within Reach" and published it in mid-2012.

In 2010, Young joined Irdeto again, this time as a DVB CSA Administrator. In this role, they managed the license application process for manufacturers of decoders in the broadcasting industry. Young then took on a part-time lecturer position at Sefako Makgatho Medical University in 2018, where they taught an astronomy course to 3rd year medical students.

Currently, Young is working as a self-employed Technical Writer and Astronomy Edutainment presenter.

Neville Young has a diverse educational background. Neville attended Dawnview High School from 1967 to 1969. Following this, in 1970-1971, they enrolled at Kearsney College and obtained a University Entrance Matriculation degree. Neville then pursued a National Electronics Diploma from Pretoria Technicon from 1977 to 1980, specializing in Digital Electronics and Computer Technology. Later in 1994, Neville attended Damelin and completed a Management Diploma, focusing on Marketing/Marketing Management, General.
