Asami Miketa

Asami Miketa is an experienced professional specializing in energy transition and power sector transformation, currently serving as the Head of Energy Transition Planning and Power Sector Transformation at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) since May 2012. With a background that includes roles as Senior Programme Officer and Programme Officer in Energy Planning at IRENA, Miketa has extensive expertise in power sector investment planning. Prior experience includes positions as an Energy Planner/Economist at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and as an Environmental Impact Analyst and Research Fellow at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. Miketa's academic credentials include a PhD in Media and Governance, an MA in Economics, and a BA in Economics, all from Keio University.
