Yong Chen

Yong Chen has extensive experience in the field of sustainable energy, currently serving as a Program Officer (Lead) for Sustainable Urban Energy and Regional Program Officer for Asia and the Pacific at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) since February 2012. Prior to this role, Yong Chen worked as an Energy Consultant on a contract basis from August 2010 to January 2012, and as a Sustainable Energy Expert at the Bank Information Center from December 2009 to July 2010. Yong Chen's earlier positions include Research Associate at the Stockholm Environment Institute from October 2002 to November 2009, Program Officer at the State Environmental Protection Administration from December 1998 to July 2001, and Project Officer at the Heilongjiang Provincial Environmental Protection Agency from September 1997 to November 1998. Yong Chen holds a Master's degree in Environment Management and Policy from Lund University, earned between 2001 and 2002.
