Alejandro Velazquez Alcantar, MSc, has a wealth of experience in the software engineering field. Alejandro started their career at the University of California, Davis as a Graduate Student Researcher from June 2016 to June 2018. Afterward, they joined FAFCO, Inc. as a Software Developer from May 2016 to November 2018.

In 2018, Alejandro moved to Talis Biomedical Corporation, where they held two roles. Alejandro started as an Embedded Software Engineer from November 2018 to September 2019, then progressed to Senior Software Engineer from September 2019 to March 2022.

Since March 2022, Alejandro has been a key contributor at Iridia, Inc. Alejandro joined as a Staff Software Engineer and later advanced to the position of Associate Director of Platform Engineering. In this role, they oversee a cross-functional team responsible for integrating Iridia's DNA data-writing system with Cloud services, with a focus on delivering robust, reliable, and highly available functional Cloud platforms.

Alejandro Velazquez Alcantar holds a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, which they obtained from the University of California, Davis from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from California State University, Chico, where they studied from 2013 to 2016. Alejandro also holds an Associate's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Yuba College, where they completed their studies from 2009 to 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Alejandro has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Alejandro obtained the SAFe Scrum Master certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in November 2022. Alejandro also holds the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C01): 2 Storage Design certification from LinkedIn, which they obtained in July 2020. Alejandro has further enhanced their expertise with certifications in Applied Machine Learning: Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Machine Learning, Microservices: Asynchronous Messaging, and Microservices: Design Patterns, all of which were obtained from LinkedIn in July 2020.
