Gary Sweeney Senr

Gary Sweeney SENr is a seasoned professional in the field of nutrition, currently serving as the National Talent Development Performance Nutritionist for the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) since February 2020. Sweeney has extensive experience as a Performance Nutritionist with various teams, including the Tipperary Senior Hurling Team from October 2018 to September 2021, and Mountbellew Moylough GAA, also from October 2016 to September 2021. Prior roles include Performance Nutritionist for Leinster Rugby, Galway GAA, and Clare Ladies Football, along with a Junior Research Assistant and R&D Intern position at Nestlé. Sweeney's educational background includes a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports and Exercise Nutrition and a Master's degree in Human Nutrition, both from Ulster University, and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Galway. Previous experience at Medtronic involved quality control technician duties.
