Jo Montgomery has extensive work experience as a physiotherapist in various rugby organizations. From 2017 to the present, they have served as the National 7s and Women's Medical Coordinator and Head Physiotherapist at the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU). Prior to that, they held the position of National Women's Medical Coordinator and Lead Physiotherapist at IRFU from 2015 to 2017. From 2013 to 2015, Jo worked as a physiotherapist at the English Institute of Sport. Before that, they were an Elite Development Physiotherapist at Edinburgh Rugby from 2009 to 2013. Jo also worked as a physiotherapist for Queens rugby from 2004 to 2008 and as the Under 20s Scotland Physiotherapist at Scottish Rugby Union from 2012 to 2013.
Jo Montgomery received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy from Ulster University, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Sports Physiotherapy from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, specializing in the field of Sports Physiotherapy, from 2007 to 2011.
