Adel Fakih

Adel Fakih is a seasoned expert in computer vision and robotics, currently serving as Principal Computer Vision Scientist at iRobot since June 2021 and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo since December 2017. Prior roles include Perception Team Lead and Sensors Team Lead at Avidbots Corp. (2018-2021), Senior Research Scientist at Realvision Inc. (2017-2018), and Senior Autonomy Developer at Clearpath Inc. (2015-2017). Adel co-founded Sweep3D Corporation, where responsibilities included planning the technology roadmap for 3D scanning technology from 2012 to 2015. An educator, Adel has contributed as a lecturer and teaching assistant at the University of Waterloo and the American University of Beirut, focusing on various engineering courses. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo and a Master's in Computer and Communication Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
