Patrick Beeson

Patrick Beeson has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics. Patrick is currently working as a Principal Robotics Scientist at iRobot since January 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Robotics Software Lead at Standard Bots from June 2020 to January 2022. Before joining Standard Bots, Patrick worked at TRACLabs as a Principal Scientist for over 10 years. At TRACLabs, they successfully managed government and commercial contracts for robotics research and led a software team to achieve notable rankings in disaster response competitions. Patrick's career also includes research and teaching roles at the University of Texas at Austin, where they worked as a Research Educator, Assistant Instructor, Graduate Research Assistant, and Teaching Assistant in various robotics-related capacities.

Patrick Beeson attended Scotlandville Magnet High School from 1992 to 1995. Patrick then went on to earn a Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science from Tulane University, which they completed from 1995 to 1999. Following that, they pursued a PhD in Computer Science at The University of Texas at Austin from 1999 to 2008.
