James Pauley

USACE CIO/G6 Cloud Service Manager at IronArch Technology

James Pauley has a long and extensive work history in the field of technology. James began their career in 1984 at The Analytic Sciences Corporation as a Senior Architect, where they designed, built, and operated software and systems in support of the F-117, Apache Longbow, B-2, YF-22/YF-23 competition. In 1999, they joined Sapient Corporation as a Senior Solution Architect, where they were one of the first to evangelize service-bus enabled SOA to solve complex middleware business challenges. In 2001, they became Employee No. 2 of 4 in the original Luxcore startup and was hired as the Chief Architect responsible for all software engineering activities within the company. In 2004, they joined Keane Federal Systems as a Lead Enterprise Architect, where they were responsible for leading the design, construction, and operation of a technical laboratory to support technical risk assessments of commercial and open-source service components. In 2006, they joined IBM Federal Software Group as a Lead Client Technical Architect, with responsibility for the entire IBM software portfolio sold/deployed to US Army, US Combatant Commands, NATO, DISA, and US partner MoDs. In 2016, they joined J.F. Taylor, Inc as a Senior Systems Architect, providing model-based systems engineering and systems architecture services. In 2017, they joined BigR.io as a Cloud Architect, providing cloud architecture and cloud migration engineering support to the U.S. Department of Justice. In 2018, they joined Planet Technologies as an Enterprise and Hybrid Cloud Architect, providing secure enterprise and hybrid cloud architectural services for State and Federal agencies. Currently, they are working at IronArch Technology as the USACE CIO/G6 Cloud Service Manager, responsible for Azure and hybrid enterprise cloud services architecture & design, lifecycle operations support, and cloud native DevSecOps for SDN IaaS, PaaS, DaaS.

James Pauley received a BS in Information Systems from the University of Maryland between 1984 and 1987. James then pursued Ocean Engineering at Florida Atlantic University. James has also obtained several certifications, including CompTIA Security+ from Udemy in July 2021, Thycotic Secret Server Certified Partner from Thycotic in March 2020, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in January 2020, Learning VMware NSX from LinkedIn in May 2018, CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in July 2021, ZScaler Certified Cloud Administrator - Internet Access from Zscaler in October 2020, Zscaler Certified Cloud Administrator - Private Access from Zscaler in October 2020, and Open Group Master Certified IT Architect from The Open Group.
