Alessandra Borgognone

Alessandra Borgognone is a Postdoctoral Bioinformatician at the IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute since November 2018, specializing in bioinformatics applications. Prior experience includes a traineeship in bioinformatics at Sequentia Biotech, focusing on the development of biological databases for metagenomic analysis. Alessandra worked as a Visiting Scientist at the IKMB, analyzing the human gut microbiome through 16S sequencing and utilizing bioinformatics tools for data processing. A Visiting Student at the University of California, Los Angeles, contributed to the computational processing of epigenetic and transcriptomic data. Educational qualifications include a MSc in Bioinformatics from the University of Skövde, a PhD in Biotechnology from the Public University of Navarre, an MSc in Biology and Health Sciences from the Università di Bologna, and a BSc in Biology from the Università degli Studi di Firenze.
