Marissa Flores Santamaria

Marissa Flores Santamaria is a PhD student researcher at the IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute, focusing on translational research in immunology and ageing since January 2023. Prior experience includes serving as the head of the Laboratory of Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses at the Instituto Nacional de Investigación en Salud Pública from June 2020 to December 2022, and holding quality control assistant roles at SnapPipe in 2019 and 2017-2018. Marissa's academic background includes a Master of Science in Translational Medicine Research from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and an Engineer's degree in Biotechnology from Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas - ESPE, where Marissa also contributed to undergraduate research projects related to bacteriophages and their applications in biocontrol.
