Shauna Villarreal

Elementary School Principal at Irving ISD

Shauna Villarreal has a diverse work experience in the education field. Shauna started their career in 2006 as a Teacher at GPISD, where they provided students with appropriate learning activities and experiences. Shauna then moved to AS Johnston Elementary in 2012 as a Third Grade Teacher, where their responsibilities included enabling students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in a global society. In 2014, they joined IRVING INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT as a Math Interventionist, providing specialized instruction and intervention to students struggling in math. Shauna later worked as an Academic Specialist, assisting the school principal in improving the instructional program by supporting and coaching teachers. From 2017 to 2021, they served as an Assistant Principal, and they currently hold the position of Elementary School Principal.

Shauna Villarreal completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Multi-/Interdisciplinary Studies, General from McMurry University in the years 2000-2003. Shauna then obtained a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix in the years 2005-2007. Shauna also holds a Principal EC-12 Certification from the Texas Education Agency, and is certified in Special Education and Texas Teacher Certification with ESL supplement.
