Daniel-Patrick Heatley has a diverse work experience spanning various engineering roles. Daniel-Patrick began their career at the Northern Ireland Technology Centre as a Robotics Engineer from August 2007 to September 2008. Daniel-Patrick then joined Rolls-Royce as an Engineer from September 2009 to December 2011, where they later took on the role of Manufacturing Improvement Engineer from January 2012 to January 2014. From January 2014 to July 2017, they served as the Quality Manager at Rolls-Royce.

In 2017, Daniel-Patrick joined SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) as the Engineering Team & Fleet Manager - Powerplant, a role they held from August 2017 to October 2020. Currently, they are working at Isar Aerospace as a Propulsion Test Engineer since November 2020. Daniel-Patrick has now taken on the position of Lead Engineer - Kiruna Operations, starting from March 2022.

Overall, Daniel-Patrick Heatley has gained experience in robotics, manufacturing improvement, quality control, and powerplant management within the aerospace industry.

Daniel-Patrick Heatley's education history begins in 1997, where they attended Abbey Christian Brothers' Grammar School in Newry. Daniel-Patrick completed their secondary education there in 2004. In the same year, they enrolled at Queen's University Belfast and pursued a Masters of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering. Daniel-Patrick completed this degree program in 2009.

After a gap of several years, in 2014, Daniel-Patrick Heatley attended Folkeuniversitetet i Bergen. There, they studied Norwegian Language for a year, concluding their studies in 2015.

Apart from their formal education, Daniel-Patrick Heatley obtained additional certifications. In 2016, they became a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (MRAeS). Subsequently, in 2020, they earned the designation of Chartered Engineer (CEng), both granted by the Royal Aeronautical Society.
