Gudmundur Gautason

Gudmundur Gautason is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in operations research, business insight, and customer excellence. Currently serving as the Director of Business Insight & Customer Excellence at Isavia since June 2011, Gudmundur has held various roles, including Manager of Airport Optimization, where responsibilities include leading a team to optimize processes at Keflavik International Airport, and Project Manager in operations research, focusing on enhancing passenger flow. Gudmundur also has a background in simulation, having developed comprehensive simulation models for airport decision-making. In addition to airport operations, Gudmundur founded Northern Lights Car Rental in 2011 and served as its Chairman of the Board, successfully growing the company to a fleet of 90 rental cars. Earlier entrepreneurial experience includes owning Arctic Experience, a travel agency and car rental booking service, and roles in finance, including Portfolio Manager at Stolbe and Financial Analyst at Landsbankinn. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from Reykjavik University.
