Prior to these roles, Segaran was employed at ANN JOO RESOURCES BERHAD from December 2010 to June 2022, where responsibilities included managerial and executive positions in Information System & Technology. Segaran's career began at SMPC Industries Sdn Bhd as an Information Technology Executive from June 2004 to November 2010. Educational qualifications include a Master of Business Administration in International Business from the University of East London, obtained in April 2021, and an Advanced Diploma in Computer Science from Informatics College, completed in 2004.
