Benn Howard

Benn Howard has worked in the software engineering field since 2000, starting at Raytheon Missiles & Defense. During their time there, they held various roles, including Senior Principal Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer II, Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer II, and Software Engineer. As Software Architect/Chief Product Owner, Air & Missile Defense Radar, they provided technical oversight and long-term direction of the system's software baseline, established development techniques and software patterns, analyzed and corrected critical software anomalies, and provided budget estimates, risk and opportunity assessments, feature prioritization, quarterly development plan, and staffing needs. Benn also acted as primary software technical liaison to U.S. Navy and mentored development team members. As Software Integration Lead, Radar Software Product Line, they led the software integration team tasked with the integration, test, and defect correction of a large software baseline driving several naval radar systems. Benn also performed software/hardware integration at deployment sites, developed software integration guidelines and software integration plans, provided oversight of software delivery to deployment sites, and developed DevOps-oriented process for new software product line.
