Zahra Khan Durrani is a seasoned professional in humanitarian research and advocacy, currently serving as the Humanitarian Learning and Research Coordinator at Islamic Relief Worldwide since June 2022. In this role, Zahra collaborates with the Disaster Risk Management Department on the STRIDE project, which focuses on enhancing disaster preparedness and fostering local partnerships across over 20 countries. Zahra's previous experience includes a fellowship at the East-West Center's Indo-Pacific Leadership Lab, where localization and community engagement in climate change adaptation were examined. Other significant roles include being a Senior Research and Advocacy Officer at Islamic Relief Pakistan, where Zahra led a national climate campaign, and a Research Associate at the Centre for Strategic and Contemporary Research, coordinating efforts on environmental sustainability. Zahra holds an MPhil in Development Studies from the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics and a BS in Economics from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad.
