James Hanson, MBA has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. James started their career in 2009 as the Corporate Director of Protection Services at Island Health, where they served until 2014. James then took on the role of Acting Director of Logistics from 2013 to 2014. From 2014 to 2016, James held the position of Corporate Director of Logistics and Operations at Island Health. In 2016, they became the Vice President of Operations and Support Services at Island Health, overseeing various departments and capital projects. From 2016 to 2020, James also served as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at Lymphoma Canada, contributing to the development of the lymphoma community. In 2021, they became a Founding Board Member of SWITCH BC, an organization focused on the health, safety, and wellbeing of healthcare workers in British Columbia. James is currently an Associate Faculty member at Royal Roads University.
James Hanson, MBA, has a rich education history. James obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in executive management from Royal Roads University in 2015. Prior to that, in 2013, they completed a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from the same institution. In 2003, James earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology from the University of Victoria. James started their educational journey at Camosun College in 1997, where they earned two Associate of Arts (A.A.) degrees, one in Criminology and the other in Social Sciences.
