Sarah Johnson

Sarah A. Johnson, MD, MPH, is a preventive medicine physician who serves as the Associate Vice President and Medical Director in IPRO’s Managed Care department. In this role, she oversees clinical activities for all managed care contracts, including leading focused clinical studies, directing monitoring and evaluation of alternative payment programs, overseeing validation of managed care plans’ performance improvement projects, and developing and refining quality metrics. Much of her work focuses on maternal health, behavioral health, and improving care for patients with chronic conditions. Dr. Johnson has expertise in implementation science, data-driven quality improvement, primary care transformation, and population health management. She is a member of New York State’s Value-Based Care Clinical Advisory Group, has co-authored several publications and presented at local and national conferences on her work related to quality measurement and improvement.

Dr. Johnson has a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University and her Masters of Public Health in epidemiology from the City University of New York.
